Working as a Senior Care Worker in Meallmore is key to supporting Registered Nurses in working together to enrich our residents’ lives as you provide high standards of person-centred care whilst leading and supporting the team – where our residents' wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do.
We provide Senior Care Workers with the opportunity to complete an award-winning 6-month programme with salary increments along the journey as well as opportunities to take your career further. Salary: £13.53 - £14.50 per hour.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Registered Nurse/Team Leader to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the comprehensive care needs of each resident living in our care home.
- Delivering hands-on personal care, leadership and support to provide the highest standards of person-centred care ensuring our residents live their best lives.
- Motivating and supervising the care team, ensuring you have oversight of your team performance, providing coaching, mentoring and leadership support to promote positive change.
- Maintain accurate records of the job you do which will include completing assessments, writing care plans, resident reviews, and evaluations.
- Administering medication.
- Leading by example in setting high standards of care and support, encouraging a positive work environment where practices are safe and meet all relevant standards, policies, and legislation.
What we are looking for:
- Previous experience working as a senior care worker in a similar care setting is essential.
- We also welcome applications from experienced care workers actively working towards their SVQ Level 3 and looking for your next step up.
- Professional, compassionate, kind and motivated with a sense of fun - you’ll pride yourself on your person-centred, thoughtful approach to care.
- Ability to lead, motivate, inspire and develop a team.
- Organised, flexible in your approach and have great communication and leadership skills.
- Confident in the use of IT applications.
- To be a Senior Care Worker you will be registered as a supervisor with the Scottish Social Services Council, within the necessary time frame.
- You will already have or be on a journey to obtain the qualifications required for your SSSC registration: Practice and supervisory qualification/s SVQ level 3 or higher, or its equivalent in Social Services.
