As part of Meallmore, our vision is to be Scotland’s most trusted care provider consistently delivering excellent care in great places to live and work. Pitfodels Wood represents that ambition in action.

We are seeking an exceptional Deputy Manager to join us ahead of opening and help establish a culture defined by excellence, accountability and professional pride.

The Opportunity

This is a rare opportunity to shape a home from its very beginning. Working in close partnership with the Home Manager, you will play a pivotal leadership role in setting standards, building a high-performing team and embedding a culture that reflects both clinical excellence and premium hospitality.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing strong clinical oversight at home level, ensuring safe, person-centred care is consistently delivered
  • Leading governance, quality assurance and continuous improvement processes
  • Supporting regulatory compliance and maintaining excellent Care Inspectorate standards
  • Acting up in the Home Manager’s absence and participating in the on-call rota
  • Contributing to workforce planning, succession development and performance management
  • Monitoring operational performance and supporting delivery of the home’s objectives
  • Building strong, professional relationships with residents, families and external stakeholders

Leadership & Culture

At Meallmore, our values guide how we work every day:

  • Create environments of kindness where everyone feels welcome
  • Act with accountability in our roles
  • Recognise the contribution of our colleagues
  • Engage in learning and improvement to continuously grow

As Deputy Manager, you will embody these values in practice, fostering a culture where colleagues feel supported, standards are uncompromising, and residents experience exceptional care and dignity. In our premium environment you will play a central role in building and sustaining that trust from day one through consistency, professionalism and visible leadership.

About You

You will be a registered nurse (RGN, RMN or RLDN) with active NMC registration and proven experience within a care home setting. Beyond your qualifications, you will demonstrate:

  • Strong clinical leadership and sound knowledge of Scottish regulatory frameworks
  • Confidence in managing governance responsibilities and operational performance
  • The ability to inspire, mentor and develop colleagues at all levels
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of how quality care and business performance align
  • A calm, decisive approach to leadership within a high-expectation setting
  • A genuine commitment to continuous learning and improvement

We are looking for a Deputy who aspires to build, shape and lead, someone motivated not only by compliance, but by the pursuit of excellence.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary of £51,916 per annum
  • Clear and structured career progression pathway, including progression to Home Manager and senior leadership roles
  • Access to leadership development programmes and continued professional development
  • The opportunity to lead within a brand-new, purpose-built luxury care home
  • A supportive and experienced senior leadership network

With continued growth across Scotland, this role offers genuine long-term career opportunity within an ambitious, values-driven organisation. If you are an experienced clinical leader ready to help establish a flagship home and contribute to our ambition of becoming Scotland’s most trusted care provider, we would be delighted to hear from you.
