Contract: Permanent

About this role: We’re looking for an IT Technician to join our Technology Team in North London. You will be based at Lift Aylward (N18 1NB) and support four schools across the region. You’ll ensure that colleagues and students can use technology confidently and effectively, making a meaningful difference to daily teaching and learning. This is a hands-on role, working directly with teachers, supporting colleagues, children and young people. You’ll diagnose and resolve issues, maintain devices and systems, and contribute to wider improvements across our schools. You’ll be based predominantly at Lift Aylward with frequent travel to nearby schools, including Lift Noel Park, Lift Trinity and Lift Beacon High. All sites are within the North London regional hub, and travel costs from Lift Aylward will be reimbursed.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day IT support across four schools in the region.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with Chrome, Windows and Apple devices.
  • Support systems such as classroom AV, telephony, CCTV, printing, and access control.
  • Maintain accurate asset and equipment records.
  • Assist with the set-up, installation and relocation of devices.
  • Communicate clearly with colleagues, ensuring support is timely and user-friendly.
  • Contribute to wider IT development projects, including network and classroom upgrades.

What we’re looking for:

  • Has experience providing IT support in a workplace setting.
  • Enjoys solving problems and learning new things.
  • Communicates clearly with people who have different levels of technical knowledge.
  • Can work independently across different sites and manage their workload confidently.
  • Holds a full UK driving licence and can travel between multiple school sites.

Experience working in a school environment or holding relevant technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Google Workspace, ITIL) is helpful but not essential. If you’re motivated to learn, we will support your development.

Development and progression: You’ll join a supportive regional and central IT team, with access to a structured learning pathway. Development opportunities may include:

  • Google Workspace Administrator training
  • Network and AV training
  • AI and digital innovation programmes within Lift Schools

This role offers the chance to grow your technical skills in a collaborative environment, with real impact every day.
