Are you looking to make a difference every day? Lift Kingswood is growing and we are seeking a confident, proactive, and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will supervise classes during the short‑term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain engaged in learning and classroom expectations are upheld.
Responsibilities
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons to classes across the school in the absence of the teacher.
- Ensure students remain on task and follow the school’s behaviour expectations.
- Manage the classroom environment to support positive behaviour and effective learning.
- Provide feedback to the relevant teacher about lesson progress, behaviour, or issues arising.
- Supervise students during non‑class time when required (e.g., registration, breaks, exams).
- Follow safeguarding procedures and maintain the safety and wellbeing of all students.
- Assist with administrative tasks or learning support activities when cover is not required.
Qualifications
- A minimum of GCSE 4/ C (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- An A level(s) (or equivalent) within other subjects.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to young people.
- Confidence in managing a classroom and maintaining order.
- Ability to follow lesson plans and deliver instructions clearly.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to use initiative.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
