What You'll Do
Under the guidance of the class teacher, the apprentice will support the learning, development, and wellbeing of pupils.
- Assist teachers in promoting learning and development, helping to maintain a positive, stimulating and inclusive environment.
- Provide tailored support to pupils, including those with SEND or those with English as an additional language, to promote safety, engagement, and independence.
- Deliver structured learning activities and interventions, and adapt tasks in response to pupil needs under the teacher’s direction.
- Encourage positive pupil interactions, nurture self-esteem and confidence, and help manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Help prepare, organise, and maintain learning resources, equipment, and classroom displays.
- Provide feedback to teachers on pupil progress and contribute to keeping accurate records and observations.
- Supervise pupils during transitions and break times as required, and help ensure physical health, safety, and hygiene needs are met.
- Comply with all safeguarding, equality, health and safety, and data protection policies.
