Meadowhead School and Sixth Form are looking to increase their team of confident, organised, and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors. The successful candidate will supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain engaged in learning and follow the school’s behaviour expectations. This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring teachers, experienced teachers or experienced school support staff looking to gain valuable classroom experience in a secondary school setting. The working hours for this position are 8.15am - 3.15pm Monday - Friday working term time only. Part time hours may be considered for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise classes across a range of subjects using pre-prepared lesson materials
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Ensure students remain on task and complete assigned work
- Provide support and guidance to students where appropriate
- Report back to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour
- Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
You will have:
- Experience working with young people, ideally in a school or educational setting
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Confidence supervising groups of students aged 11-16
- A calm, professional, and adaptable approach
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
