Contract: Permanent, 7 out of 5 days including weekends and Bank Holidays

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Carpenter / General Grounds & Maintenance Technician to carry out a wide range of repair, carpentry, and site upkeep duties. The role involves maintaining buildings, outdoor areas, and facilities to ensure they remain safe, functional, and well-presented at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general carpentry work including repairs, installations, and basic construction
  • Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs to buildings, fixtures, and fittings
  • Maintain outdoor areas including grass cutting, hedge trimming, and general landscaping
  • Ensure pathways, car parks, and communal areas are clean, safe, and hazard-free
  • Conduct inspections to identify maintenance issues and report or resolve them promptly
  • Operate and maintain tools, machinery, and equipment safely
  • Assist with seasonal tasks such as leaf clearance, gritting, or snow removal
  • Support other maintenance tasks including painting, basic plumbing, and general upkeep
  • Follow health & safety regulations at all times

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in carpentry and general maintenance work
  • Basic knowledge of building maintenance, tools, and equipment
  • Ability to carry out physical work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Understanding of health & safety practices

Qualifications (Desirable)

  • NVQ or equivalent in Carpentry or a related trade
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Experience in groundskeeping or landscaping
