Retail Team Job Description
The Retail Team are responsible for providing excellent customer service while preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in a safe, friendly, and efficient manner. They ensure customers have a positive experience by maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming bar environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve drinks according to recipes and customer requests.
- Ensure the venue is spotless.
- Welcome customers and provide friendly, professional service.
- Check identification to verify legal drinking age where required.
- Process payments using cash registers or card payment systems.
- Maintain cleanliness of the bar, glassware, and work areas.
- Restock beverages, ice, garnishes, and other supplies.
- Monitor customer alcohol consumption and promote responsible drinking.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and health and safety regulations.
- Work effectively with team members to ensure smooth service, especially during busy periods.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good teamwork and time management skills.
- Basic cash handling and point-of-sale (POS) experience.
- Knowledge of cocktails, beers, wines, and spirits is an advantage.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Experience:
Previous experience in a bar, pub, restaurant, or hospitality setting is preferred but not always required, as many employers provide training.
