Grass Cutting Operative - Billing Aquadrome - Northampton, Northamptonshire Department: Grounds & Maintenance Reports To: Grounds Manager / Maintenance Manager Contract: Seasonal - 2 Positions Available Working Pattern: 5 days out of 7, including weekends Salary: National Minimum Wage, applicable to age and eligibility Job Purpose To maintain the grassed and landscaped areas across the holiday park to a high standard, ensuring all areas are safe, tidy and presentable for owners, holidaymakers, visitors and staff. Key Responsibilities Mow and strim grassed areas across the holiday park using appropriate machinery and equipment. Maintain grass verges, communal areas, walkways and other designated green spaces. Use ride-on mowers, pedestrian mowers, strimmers and other grounds maintenance equipment safely and correctly. Trim around trees, fencing, buildings, pathways and other areas that cannot be reached by a mower. Keep grassed areas neat, even and well maintained throughout the cutting season. Remove grass cuttings and leave work areas clean and tidy. Report damaged equipment, unsafe areas, fallen branches, hazards or maintenance issues to the Grounds Manager. Carry out routine checks and basic cleaning of grass-cutting equipment. Follow all site health and safety procedures and wear the required PPE. Work safely around owners, holidaymakers, vehicles, colleagues and other contractors. Assist with other general grounds maintenance duties when required. Complete work to the required standard and within agreed timescales. Skills & Experience Previous experience in grass cutting or grounds maintenance is desirable but not essential. Experience using ride-on and pedestrian mowing equipment is an advantage. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Good attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good awareness of health and safety. Reliable, punctual and flexible approach to working hours. Willingness to work weekends as part of the 5 days out of 7 working pattern. Physical Requirements The role involves working outdoors for extended periods and may include prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending and operating machinery. The role may also involve lifting and moving equipment and materials. Working Environment This is an outdoor seasonal role within a busy holiday park environment. The successful candidate must be comfortable working around members of the public, holiday accommodation, vehicles and other site activities. Contract & Working Pattern This is a seasonal contract , with work required during the park's busy grass-cutting and grounds maintenance period. The successful candidate will work 5 days out of 7, including weekends , with working days and hours arranged according to the operational requirements of the park. Pay National Minimum Wage , applicable to the successful candidate's age and eligibility. General Duties The above duties are not exhaustive.
