We are seeking a hands-on experienced Traffic Operator to join a professional operations team in Southampton to support our general haulage operations across the UK. This is a great opportunity to join a family owned business.

The Role:

  • As a Transport Planner, you will be routing the delivery & collection of full loads UK wide.
  • You must ensure all road transport legislation is adhered to.
  • Routes must be planned in line with WTD.
  • All administration must be completed and accurate.
  • You will be liaising with Drivers and customers as appropriate.
  • Previous Back Office Transport experience preferred.
  • Transport experience.
  • Excellent geographical knowledge.
  • Dealing with existing customers.
  • Route Planning.
  • Good IT & Communication skills.
  • Liaising with drivers within a busy environment.
  • Dealing with drivers hours.
  • Trailer rotation.
  • Use of a computerised TMS plus other bolt-on variables to enable the management of other parts of our operation.
  • IT skills are necessary for the day to day operation in this role.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • A strong team ethic both inside and outside the office.
  • Previous experience within a similar role.
  • CPC qualification not necessary however may assist your application.

Hours:

  • Rotational shifts between 06:00 and 18:00.
  • Weekend Work: 1 in 4 Saturday/Sunday mornings (additional payment provided).
