A leading London-based Facilities Management business is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their mobile maintenance team. This role is suited to a hands-on engineer with strong pipework installation experience and a solid background in mechanical planned and reactive maintenance across commercial sites.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out mechanical PPMs, remedial works, fault finding, and responding to reactive call-outs. A call-out rota operates on a 1-in-4 basis, typically introduced after six months of employment.
This is a mobile role covering six sites in East London and one site in South West London.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on mechanical plant and systems in line with site schedules and statutory requirements.
- Attend reactive maintenance tasks and emergency call-outs, diagnosing and resolving mechanical faults efficiently to minimise downtime.
- Undertake mechanical remedial works, including pipework repairs and minor installations.
- Fault finding and resetting of mechanical plant during service losses.
- Ensure all works are completed safely, in compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
- Accurately complete maintenance records, reports, and job sheets.
- Liaise with site contacts, supervisors, and management to ensure clear communication and effective service delivery.
- Air dirt separator servicing
- Strainer servicing (removal and cleaning)
- Valve exercising
- Vessel servicing (drain and flush)
- Plate heat exchanger flushing
- Mechanical plant fault finding and system resets
- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within a facilities management or building services environment.
- Strong pipework installation and mechanical repair experience.
- Experience carrying out mechanical PPMs and reactive maintenance on commercial sites.
- Ability to fault find and troubleshoot mechanical plant and systems.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to participate in the call-out rota.
