Overview: Mechanical Project Manager responsible for delivering mechanical projects end-to-end, from business development and tendering through design, installation, and handover. The role requires a proactive, self-sufficient approach, generating new business, designing and pricing work, winning projects, and delivering them safely, on time, and within budget. Strong focus on HVAC and associated mechanical systems across commercial and industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate new business opportunities, attend client meetings, and develop long-term client relationships
- Lead HVAC and mechanical system design, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, quotations, and project proposals
- Take full responsibility for project delivery from award to completion, including programme, cost, quality, and safety
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure successful project outcomes
- Act as the main client contact, providing regular progress updates and managing expectations
- Ensure all works comply with H&S, environmental, and quality standards
Experience & Skills
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager delivering HVAC and mechanical projects
- Strong background in mechanical design, estimating, and project management
- Commercially aware, with the ability to win and deliver work independently
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Qualifications & Location
- Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services preferred
- Essex-based office with regular site visits and travel as required
