A leading London-based Facilities Management business is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their mobile maintenance team. This role is suited to a hands-on engineer with a background in electrical planned and reactive maintenance across commercial sites.

Although a JIB Gold Card and electrical testing qualifications (2391 or equivalent) are not essential, they are highly preferred. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out electrical PPMs, remedial works identified through maintenance inspections, fault finding, and reactive call-outs. All remedial works arising from PPMs are completed internally.

There is a strong pipeline of electrical testing scheduled for 2026, with overtime available in some instances to support completion of these works. A call-out rota operates on a 1-in-3 basis, typically introduced after the first few months of employment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical systems and plant in line with site schedules and statutory requirements.
  • Attend reactive maintenance tasks and emergency call-outs, diagnosing and resolving electrical faults efficiently to minimise downtime.
  • Undertake electrical remedial works identified during PPM inspections.
  • Carry out electrical testing where qualified, supporting upcoming testing programmes.
  • Ensure all works are completed safely, in compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Accurately complete maintenance records, reports, and job sheets.
  • Liaise with site contacts, supervisors, and management to ensure clear communication and effective service delivery.

Typical PPM and Reactive Tasks Include

  • ATS servicing
  • Trace heating servicing
  • Back-up generator checks and servicing
  • Environmental and extraction fan servicing
  • Distribution board servicing

Requirements

  • Proven experience in electrical maintenance within a facilities management or building services environment.
  • Experience carrying out electrical PPMs and reactive maintenance on commercial sites.
  • Electrical testing qualifications (2391 or equivalent) preferred but not essential.
  • JIB Gold Card preferred but not essential.
  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to participate in the call-out rota.
