Mission

As Back of House Supervisor, you will support the smooth and efficient operation of the stewarding and kitchen porter department at ME London, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, organisation, and operational support across all back‑of‑house food and beverage areas. You will supervise Kitchen Porters and cleaning teams, ensuring compliance with health & safety, HACCP standards, and company procedures while maintaining excellent support for the kitchen and wider Food & Beverage operation. Through strong leadership, organisation, and attention to detail, you will help deliver an exceptional luxury hospitality experience behind the scenes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of Kitchen Porters and back‑of‑house cleaning teams
  • Ensure all kitchen, storage, canteen, and stewarding areas are maintained to the highest cleanliness and hygiene standards
  • Ensure all outlets and kitchen areas are supplied with clean and dry operating equipment and utensils
  • Support the management of porter schedules in line with business levels and operational demands
  • Monitor and maintain cleaning schedules for kitchens, fridges, freezers, storage areas, and refuse areas
  • Ensure HACCP procedures and health & safety standards are consistently followed
  • Support stock control, storage organisation, and inventory management for operating equipment and cleaning supplies
  • Report maintenance issues and follow up on repair requests where required
  • Conduct daily team briefings and support training initiatives for team members
  • Assist during busy operational periods to ensure smooth service delivery
  • Maintain accurate records including breakage reports, cleaning logs, and departmental documentation
  • Support communication and collaboration between Kitchen, Stewarding, Food & Beverage, and other operational departments

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a stewarding, kitchen porter supervisory, or back‑of‑house hospitality role
  • Strong understanding of hygiene, food safety, and HACCP procedures
  • Excellent organisational and team leadership skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced luxury hospitality environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to motivate a team
  • High attention to detail and proactive approach to problem‑solving
  • Flexible approach to shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Experience managing stock, cleaning schedules, or operational equipment is advantageous
