An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Qualified Solicitor or Licensed Conveyancer to join the Residential Property Department of a well-established and highly regarded traditional law firm based in Crawley, West Sussex. This is a fully office-based role, offering the opportunity to work closely with experienced colleagues within a busy and successful property team. Reporting directly to the Senior Partner, you will be responsible for managing your own residential conveyancing caseload from initial instruction through to post-completion. The role offers exposure to a broad range of residential property matters, including more complex and high-value transactions, whilst providing opportunities for continued professional development and career progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a varied residential conveyancing caseload from instruction through to post-completion.
  • Handling a broad range of residential property transactions, including complex and high-value matters.
  • Advising prospective and existing clients, preparing matter estimates and pre-instruction documentation where required.
  • Providing clear, practical and accurate legal advice throughout the conveyancing process.
  • Drafting, reviewing and proofreading legal documentation to progress matters efficiently.
  • Liaising professionally with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, solicitors and other third parties.
  • Ensuring all files are managed in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring case management systems and diaries are kept fully up to date.
  • Managing deadlines effectively and progressing matters in a timely manner.
  • Delivering an exceptional standard of client care through clear and proactive communication.
  • Supporting the development of strong relationships with clients and professional introducers.
  • Assisting with business development activities and contributing to the continued success of the department.
  • Supervising, mentoring and delegating work to junior colleagues and support staff where appropriate.
  • Providing support to colleagues within the wider team as required.

About You

  • Qualified Solicitor or Licensed Conveyancer with experience specialising in Residential Conveyancing.
  • Demonstrable experience managing a residential conveyancing caseload independently from instruction to completion.
  • Strong technical knowledge of residential property law, including the ability to deal confidently with more complex transactions.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload and meet deadlines.
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and client-focused approach.
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of the importance of maintaining and developing client relationships.
  • Experience of supervising or mentoring junior team members would be advantageous.
