Head of Trade and Communications at MDSG

Are you passionate about travel and tourism? Are you great with people with a natural talent for communications and delivering great service? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! MDSG is seeking a self-motivated, outgoing Account Executive with heaps of drive to join our team and support our USA destination clients.

Responsibilities:

· Provide support to the Head of Trade and Communications across all of the representation client activities

· Attend travel trade and media events as required

· Liaise with tour operators and airlines to update them with client news and in turn, our clients with travel trade booking trends and insights

· Create content for various marketing channels, including social media, email campaigns and promotional websites

· Proof read/edit press releases and marketing communications

· Create trend reports and market updates for clients with a travel trade focus and also at times media and PR theme

· Curate content for the agency client newsletter from across a range of industry and national press news stories

· Support the team with administration duties such as expense sheets, client disbursements and monthly trade and media reports

· Work closely with the account teams to support travel trade event organisation including booking travel arrangements

· Updating the agency database as required to add new contacts after event attendance

· Assist in the ordering of merchandise and printed advertising materials

Skills:

· Bachelor\’s degree in Travel, Tourism, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field but will consider other qualifications for the right candidate

· Strong understanding of the travel and tourism sector

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Strong Powerpoint and Excel

· Creative thinking and stacks of common sense

· Strong ability to self-manage and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines

· Team mindset and the ability to work in a fast-paced

· Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work

· Passion for travel and tourism, with a keen interest in exploring new destinations and experiences
