Role Overview

We are looking for a Head of Sales to lead and scale our commercial efforts across the globe. This is a hands-on, player-coach role for someone who thrives in a high-performance, “always be closing” environment. You will be responsible for driving new business, closing strategic deals, and leading a team of Business Development Managers (BDMs), while staying directly involved in the sales cycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Personally lead and close high-value institutional deals (asset managers, banks, wealth managers)
  • Build and maintain a high-quality, predictable sales pipeline, while owning and delivering on team revenue targets
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of Business Development Managers and Representatives
  • Implement and enforce strong sales discipline (forecasting, CRM hygiene, conversion tracking)
  • Ensure deep mastery of Sphere’s capabilities and use cases, and actively coach BDMs to deliver compelling, tailored client narratives and consistently high-quality, impactful demos
  • Act as a role model in sales execution, leading by example
  • Develop and continuously refine market intelligence, identifying target accounts, key decision-makers, and buying structures within institutional clients
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Product teams to refine positioning and go-to-market strategy

Requirements

  • Significant experience in institutional sales targeting asset management, wealth management, investment banks, pension funds, insurance companies or similar
  • Strong track record of closing complex, high-value deals
  • Experience managing and coaching sales teams (player-coach mindset is essential)
  • Deep understanding of continental European financial markets and landscape
  • Strong network within institutional investors (highly desirable)
  • Highly driven, hands-on, and execution-focused
