The Role
Embarking upon a period of transformation in the finance function, the Group Financial Controller is a key senior appointment, reporting directly to the CFO.
The role will lead the global finance function, owning group-level reporting, compliance and control in a multi-currency environment.
With a strong focus on utilising automation and systems to enhance the process of consolidation, investor and lender reporting, audit and financial operations, the Group FC will play a central role in supporting the continued international growth and financial performance of the business.
Key responsibilities
Driving transformation in the finance function through the enhanced use of systems and automation
Leading monthly and quarterly group close and consolidated reporting under UK GAAP
Producing high-quality board and investor packs
Overseeing statutory accounts and group audit across multiple jurisdictions
Leading budgeting, forecasting and working capital planning
Supporting M&A integration and driving finance transformation initiatives
Managing tax, treasury, and FX exposure
Leading and developing a growing team of qualified finance professionals
The Candidate
We\βre seeking a high-calibre, technically strong qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with a track record of leading finance teams in international multi-site businesses.
You\βll need to bring:
Solid knowledge of UK GAAP and experience of group consolidations across multiple entities and currencies
Ideally, experience in a Private Equity-backed business
Experience in integrating acquisitions, driving process improvement and leveraging systems to modernise finance functions
Experience of Sage 200 would be useful (although not essential)
Experience in a people-based business that operates project time reporting systems would also be useful (but not essential)
Hands-on experience with audit, controls and compliance across different jurisdictions
Sound commercial awareness and the ability to partner with stakeholders across the business
A proactive mindset, with strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
