MDM Props is looking for an experienced senior draughting technician to join our team on a freelance, fixed-term contract for a project running until at least the end of October and highly likely to continue further. The role will be based in our workshop in North Greenwich, five days-40 hours a week. This is a client-facing role, you will be working closely with our project management and operations team to deliver high-quality drawing packages throughout the design and fabrication process.
Essential skills and experience:
- Expert in Rhino 3D
- Minimum seven years’ experience producing technical and fabrication drawings
- A broad understanding of construction materials, fabrication methods and fixing systems
- Experience within interior fit-out, cruise ship interiors, or similarly detailed manufacturing environments
- Excellent communication skills and confidence working directly with clients
- CNC/CAM manufacturing workflows
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
Desirable skills:
- Revit
- Navisworks
- Bluebeam Revu, including participating in collaborative review sessions
- BIM co-ordination
Key responsibilities:
- Produce 30 per cent, 60 per cent and 90 per cent design packages for client review
- Attend weekly Microsoft Teams meetings with clients and internal project teams
- Maintain model organisation, layering, presentation standards and file management in line with MDM standards
- Producing cut files for a variety of CAM manufacturing processes
- Prepare and coordinate artwork files supplied by the client
- Produce accurate fabrication drawings for manufacture
- Work closely with technical project managers to develop and agree design methodology
- Delegate work to junior draughting technicians where required and provide technical guidance
- Produce accurate as-built drawings upon project completion
