Creative Project Manager

At MDM Props, we create high-quality bespoke artwork, environments, and creative builds for artists and creatives as well as experiential, events, and brand-led projects globally.

The Role

As Creative Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for shaping and delivering projects from initial brief through to final sign-off. You’ll act as the primary client contact, translating ideas into clearly defined scopes, budgets, and deliverables—while protecting creative development and maintaining quality throughout. You’ll work closely with a Technical Project Manager (TPM), forming a dual leadership model: you lead creative direction, client relationships, and commercial control while they lead technical delivery and fabrication. Together, you are accountable for delivering work that meets creative intent, build feasibility, budget, and timeline and consistently exceeds client expectations.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Client & Commercial
  • Act as the main client contact from enquiry through to completion
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, supporting repeat business
  • Interpret briefs and translate them into clear scopes, budgets, and timelines
  • Lead conversations around pricing, scope, and delivery
• Creative & Production
  • Lead creative development and problem‑solving across projects
  • Ensure aesthetic intent is maintained from concept through to build
  • Collaborate closely with workshop and production teams to align creativity with feasibility
  • Source materials, finishes, and references to support design development
• Project Delivery
  • Set up and manage project workflows, documentation, and communication
  • Coordinate internal teams and external suppliers
  • Manage feedback, changes, and approvals clearly across all stakeholders
  • Attend site when required to manage installs and client expectations
• Completion
  • Oversee client reviews, snagging, and final sign‑off
  • Ensure delivered work meets agreed creative standards and goes beyond client expectations
  • Contribute to project reviews and continuous improvement

What We’re Looking For

This is a mid‑senior role, ideally suited to someone with 10+ years’ experience in creative project delivery within physical production environments. You’ll have experience in:

• Experiential or visitor attraction production
• Exhibition or brand/retail environments
• Scenic fabrication and workshop‑based production
• Design‑led manufacturing and bespoke builds

And you’ll bring:

• Strong client‑facing and relationship management skills
• Confident creative judgement and attention to detail
• Great technical knowledge (fabrication techniques, materials, ability to visualise creative intent from conversation as well as sketches or drawings)
• The ability to balance creative ambition with budget and build constraints
• Excellent organisation, communication, and documentation skills
• Commercial awareness (pricing, margins, scope control)
• A proactive, positive, solutions‑focused mindset
