Marina Developments Ltd is the UK's leading Marina operator with several marinas within the UK situated at idyllic locations. We are looking to engage a casual worker to support our team on an ad hoc basis at our Hamble and Southampton sites. This role will be a no-fixed hours casual worker contract. Typically, casual work assigned to you will be based at Mercury Yacht Harbour and Holiday Park, Hamble, SO31 4HQ. You will also have the opportunity to work at one of our other sites within the region.
The role of our Casual Night Marina Operative will be to assist the team from time to time supporting the site with various tasks and shifts that require casual resource. The role will include but not limited to:
- Provide a meet and greet service to all members and visitors
- Overseeing the berthing allocations of vessels
- To carry out general maintenance tasks as required
- Ensuring the telephone is answered in the correct and timely manner
- To ensure all customer enquiries are dealt with both promptly and efficiently
- Assisting in actively marketing and promoting the marina and associated services
- Maintaining the security of the site
- Carry out all duties in line with Company policies, particularly focused on compliance with H&S and Customer Service standards
The key requirements for this role are but not limited to:
- Enthusiastic and friendly with a flexible and positive can do attitude
- Previous experience in a customer service environment (in a leisure/marina/hospitality industry an advantage)
- General maintenance skills (not essential but an advantage)
- Self-motivated and able to work without supervision
- Sound awareness of basic health and safety in the workplace
- Confident use of IT systems
- A practical, resourceful and common-sense approach
- Good practical boating skills/qualifications (not essential but an advantage)
- Competent swimmer (essential)
- Educated to at least GCSE level or equivalent
