At mdgroup, we are on a mission to revolutionize patient services in the pharmaceutical and clinical research industry. We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer to help ensure the quality, safety, and reliability of our mobile and web platforms used in clinical trials worldwide. This role will be pivotal in ensuring software quality, reliability, and compliance across our digital clinical trial platforms. This is an opportunity to work in a high-impact, regulated environment where your work directly supports patient outcomes.
As a QA Automation Engineer, you will work closely with software engineering, business analysis, product and regulatory specialists. You’ll be responsible for ensuring mobile and web systems are fully verified, validated and ready for release. This is a regulated environment where software quality is essential to the safety and security of our patients, making the role both technically interesting and meaningful. You will not just be a tester who finds bugs after code has been written, but someone who is a strong advocate for shift-left testing, partnering early with product and engineering to define acceptance criteria, identify risks, and embed quality throughout the development lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Design and execute automated and manual test strategies to ensure high-quality releases
- Build and maintain scalable test automation frameworks (Cypress, Detox)
- Collaborate with product and engineering to define acceptance criteria and identify edge cases early
- Lead User Acceptance Criteria (UAC) definition aligned with regulatory and business requirements
- Perform exploratory testing to uncover critical defects and usability issues
- Manage defects and testing workflows using Jira
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous delivery
- Contribute to quality standards and best practices in a regulated (GxP) environment
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience testing mobile (iOS/Android) and web applications
- Strong experience with test automation (Cypress and/or Detox)
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript
- Experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber)
- Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred:
- Experience in regulated environments (GxP, healthcare, life sciences)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
- Tools: Xcode, Android Studio, Bitrise, Firebase
- Experience with GitHub, Jira, Confluence
Why Join mdgroup?
- Be part of a global team providing cutting-edge clinical solutions
- Work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with opportunities for growth and professional development
- Competitive benefits package including:
- 25 days holiday per year plus public holidays
