A growing energy efficiency and LED lighting specialist is looking to appoint an LED Designer/Electrical Design Engineer to support the design and delivery of LED lighting projects across commercial and public sector environments.
This is a technically focused role, offering exposure to full project lifecycles, from early-stage design through to installation support and handover.
The Role
You’ll be part of a specialist design team responsible for producing compliant, efficient and buildable LED lighting designs. Working closely with Project Managers, engineers and clients, you’ll help ensure designs are practical, cost-effective and aligned with site constraints.
This role suits someone with a lighting or electrical design background who wants to develop their technical capability within a growing energy-focused business.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce LED lighting designs and layouts for commercial and public sector projects
- Create lighting calculations and simulations using Dialux, Relux or similar software
- Develop drawings and technical documentation suitable for installation and handover
- Review site information and support design adjustments based on real-world constraints
- Assist with site surveys and technical queries during delivery
- Ensure designs comply with relevant lighting standards and regulations
- Support project teams through design development and installation phases
- Contribute to continuous improvement of design standards and processes
Experience & Skills Required
- Experience in LED lighting design or electrical design
- Familiarity with lighting design software (Dialux / Relux preferred)
- Ability to produce clear layouts and technical drawings
- Understanding of lighting regulations and compliance standards
- Good communication skills and a collaborative approach
- Organised and detail-focused, with the ability to manage multiple tasks
Desirable
- Electrical qualification or relevant technical degree
- AutoCAD or similar CAD software experience
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Experience supporting site-based project delivery
