With a strong pipeline of projects and a reputation for excellent service, they are seeking a Pre-Construction Manager to strengthen their team.

About the Role

The Pre-Construction Manager will play a pivotal role in managing client projects from initial enquiry and design through to handover into delivery. Acting as the main point of contact for clients, developers, DNOs, and ICPs, you will ensure all pre-construction activities are coordinated effectively to meet project timescales.

This position is open to candidates from two possible backgrounds:

  • Experienced Pre-Construction / Project Coordination professionals with utilities, ICP, DNO, or IDNO experience.
  • Ambitious individuals from a project support, coordination, or multi-utilities background who are eager to be trained and developed into the role.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the primary client and stakeholder contact during the pre-construction phase.
  • Organising pre-start meetings with clients and developers.
  • Coordinating design information and connection designs with clients, DNOs, and ICPs.
  • Initiating legal processes where required.
  • Arranging procurement and delivery of long-lead items such as substations, GRP housings, and switchgear.
  • Managing asset value quotations, MPAN requests, and point of connection (POC) arrangements.
  • Raising purchase orders, processing invoices, and maintaining project documentation.
  • Coordinating Adoption Agreements (AA) and Bilateral Connection Agreements (BCA).
  • Leading handover meetings with Project Managers once projects are ready for construction.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A customer-focused mindset and a commitment to delivering outstanding service.
  • Good IT proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office.

Desirable (experienced route):

  • Pre-construction, project coordination, or tendering experience within ICP, DNO, IDNO, or multi-utilities.
  • Knowledge of substations, GRPs, MPANs, and POC processes.
  • Understanding of utility adoption agreements and associated legal frameworks.

Desirable (junior route):

  • Background in utilities, engineering, energy, or construction support/coordination.
  • Experience in customer-facing or project support roles.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn from an experienced Pre-Construction Manager.

What’s on Offer

  • Competitive salary package, dependent on experience.
  • Hybrid working options (office and home-based flexibility).
  • A supportive team environment with strong development opportunities.
  • Full training and mentoring available for junior candidates.
  • The chance to join a dynamic and expanding utilities provider at an exciting stage of growth.
