We are seeking an Electrical Design/Grid Interface Engineer to act as a key technical interface between client, contractors, and external stakeholders across grid-connected infrastructure projects in the UK. This role will serve as a technical gatekeeper, ensuring consistency, compliance, and quality across all electrical interfaces, protecting the integrity of the project's technical baseline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary technical interface between client, EPC contractors, consultants, and external vendors
  • Review and manage key electrical interface documentation, including:
    • Single Line Diagrams
    • Electrical layouts
    • Cable schedules
    • SCADA / EMS block diagrams
  • Ensure all contractor and vendor submissions align with Employer's Requirements prior to client submission
  • Maintain interface consistency across multiple project stakeholders
  • Support the enforcement of UK grid compliance and engineering standards
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks across design and interface boundaries
  • Provide independent technical assurance across electrical design deliverables

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
  • 3–8 years' experience in:
    • Electrical design, Grid-connected infrastructure (e.g. renewables, substations, BESS, power systems)
  • Strong knowledge of UK standards and regulatory frameworks, including:
    • G99, ENA guidelines, DNO/TSO processes, BS and IEC standards
  • Experience reviewing or producing electrical design documentation (SLDs, schematics, layouts, etc.)
  • Understanding of SCADA / EMS systems and integration
  • Experience working with EPC contractors or multidisciplinary project environments
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to challenge and coordinate across stakeholders

Desirable

  • Experience across renewable energy projects (Solar, Wind, BESS)
  • Familiarity with grid connection processes and compliance submissions
  • Experience in technical due diligence or owner's engineer roles
