Design & MEICA Manager

Location: South West England • Permanent

A leading contractor in the utilities and infrastructure sector is seeking an experienced Design and MEICA Manager to oversee the design and delivery of MEICA services within a major non-core project portfolio. This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for ensuring safe, compliant and efficient project execution, reporting directly to the Director of Projects.

The Role

  • Lead the management and coordination of design and MEICA services across multiple projects.
  • Oversee project delivery from inception to completion, ensuring safety, quality, programme and budget compliance.
  • Deputise for the Director of Projects, making key decisions and providing day-to-day leadership.
  • Drive corporate governance and best practice in project delivery.
  • Manage budgets, resources and operational processes to maximise efficiency and profitability.
  • Lead client stakeholder management, building strong commercial relationships.
  • Ensure CDM compliance, risk management and adherence to company systems and procedures.
  • Contribute to long-term strategic planning and implementation of new technologies.
  • Provide leadership, coaching and motivation to multi-disciplinary project teams.

The Person

  • Proven leadership experience in a similar role.
  • Degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in engineering or construction management.
  • Strong track record in the management and delivery of design & build projects of varying value.
  • In-depth knowledge of CDM compliance and NEC contracts.
  • Excellent people management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong organisational, decision-making and negotiation capabilities.
  • Ability to lead multi-discipline teams and influence across all levels of the business.
  • Salary up to £85,000 plus performance-related bonus (5%).
  • Up to 20% combined pension contribution.
  • 25 days’ holiday (rising with service) plus option to buy/sell additional days.
