We are currently recruiting experienced Electricians with Category 2 & 3 DNO authorisation to join a major, long-term programme of works for a leading UK electricity network operator.

This is an excellent opportunity to join the project at the start of a major national rollout, with the initial phase commencing across the South of England before expanding to cover distribution network assets throughout Great Britain.

The programme will involve the installation, testing and commissioning of LV/MV monitoring equipment across transformer and distribution network sites, supporting the ongoing development and modernisation of the electricity network.

The Role

Working as part of a dedicated project team, you will carry out electrical works associated with the installation and commissioning of monitoring equipment on LV/MV distribution network assets.

You will be expected to work safely and professionally both independently and alongside other engineers and site personnel, ensuring all works are delivered to the required technical, safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out electrical installation works on LV/MV distribution network assets.
  • Install, connect, test and commission LV/MV monitoring equipment.
  • Work on distribution transformers and associated electrical infrastructure.
  • Carry out electrical testing and fault-finding where required.

  • Complete site documentation, testing records and project reports accurately.
  • Identify and report any site issues or requirements that may affect the works.
  • Liaise with engineers, supervisors, project managers and client representatives.
  • Ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
  • Work independently when required while maintaining strong communication with the wider project team.
  • Travel to multiple sites across the South of England and, as the programme develops, potentially throughout Great Britain.
  • Current Category 2 & 3 DNO authorisation.
  • Recognised electrical qualification, such as City & Guilds, NVQ, QQI, Craft Certificate or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working on DNO, utility, power distribution or electrical infrastructure projects.
  • SHEA, Safe Pass, CSCS or equivalent industry certification, as applicable.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety and safe systems of work.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel to different project locations.
