The Client:
A global, growing entity that are renowned amongst Aerospace, Defense, Energy and Biopharma OEMs and Primes for unparalleled competency in providing machined and assembled filtration devices.
Core Role:
- Planning, improvement, and implementation of production systems and processes.
- Provide technical support to production (assembly and machining) in change management.
- Stakeholder management of / problem solving with internal & external stakeholders.
- Determining methods, tooling and processes required for manufacture.
- Compilation of manufacturing routings and BOM’s (bill of materials) within the company’s MRP system.
- Use of 3D design software to assist in the design of tooling & assembly aids (machined and 3D printed).
- Produce, update and improve internal manufacturing specifications.
- NPI, NPD and prototyping, as well as the estimation of early-stage manufacturing costs.
- Support APQP by facilitating FMEA plans (failure mode, effect and analysis), process flow diagrams and control plans.
Experience/Qualifications:
Required:
- HNC or degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
- High precision manufacturing/AS9100/ISO9001 environment experience,
- GD&T tolerance and drawing annotation knowledge, impact on assemblies and tolerance stacking understood.
- Metallic treatment, welding or non-conventional machining (special process) knowledge.
- Some experience with either metal treatments or unconventional machining
- AutoCAD 2D or 3D design experience.
- Experience of using process mapping techniques.
Candidate profile:
- Can-do approach and self-driven.
- NC and concessions knowledge, and familiarity with different types of NC – dim, cosmetic, special process-related etc.
- Good problem solving capabilities and communication skills.
- MUST be able to interpret drawings and be comfortable with GD&T requirements.
- Process control knowledge.
- Knowledge of product qualification and FAIR requirements.
- LEAN & 6S minded.
- Passion to drive change in a challenging environment and the ability to solve complex problems.
