Job Title: Technical Setter (Nights) Salary: £15.55 plus 30% Shift Allowance Location: Maidenhead Working Hours: Night Shift, 6:45pm – 7:00am Contract Type: Fulltime, Permanent Job Overview: Responsible for setting up and operating extrusion machines to ensure products are manufactured to precise specifications, maintaining high-quality standards, and meeting production quantity requirements. Key Responsibilities of the Technical Setter: Ensure efficient production line operation by verifying machinery is in good working condition and set to the correct product specifications. Strip down, clean, rebuild machinery, and carry out start-up procedures. Minimise downtime by proactively monitoring the line and promptly troubleshooting and resolving any issues. Notify site management of complex issues and collaborate on resolutions, including coordination with external resources when necessary. Oversee material loading, confirming the correct mix for product specifications. Continuously monitor product quality, making process or material adjustments as needed to maintain quality standards. Guide and support Operators, providing instruction as required. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment following all guidelines. Assist colleagues and support the broader team as required. Skills and Experience of the Technical Setter: Skilled in managing a production line end-to-end, including routine maintenance and the following technical tasks: LLDPE line setup, coiler operation, Zumbach and PB rewind settings, and print setup. Proficient in learning additional procedures, including BPEX line setup, BPB operations with coilers, print cartridge changes, and ink nozzle alignment. Capable of conducting fault testing, diagnosing issues, and solving complex production line problems. Strong numeracy and literacy skills for precise material measurement and quality compliance. In-depth understanding of production quality standards to ensure continuous line performance. Effective verbal communication skills to discuss technical details with management and external suppliers. Skilled at explaining technical processes to colleagues and aiding in their professional development. Takes ownership of daily production processes, ensuring comprehensive oversight across the line.
