We are looking for an experienced Toolmaker to join our Toolroom team. The role involves manufacturing, maintaining, and improving tooling and ancillary equipment used in the manufacture, assembly, and testing in the UK and overseas.
Salary & Benefits

- Shift Pattern (Current pattern - flexibility required as this may change): Monday to Thursday: 7:45am - 12:30pm / 1:00pm - 4:45pm, Friday: 7:45am - 12:30pm
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture, maintain, and repair tooling, jigs, fixtures, and work-holding equipment
- Support planned maintenance, breakdowns, and tool orders to ensure timely completion
- Maintain tooling and equipment used by Operations
- Provide day-to-day support to production for manufacturing, maintenance, and quality issues
- Work closely with Tool Design to ensure effective tooling solutions
- Feedback improvements and defects to Operations and Process Engineering
- Ensure all Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures are followed
- Support projects and continuous improvement activity
- Assist with supervising and training apprentices or toolroom assistants
Skills & Experience (Essential)
- Experience working in a production or manufacturing environment
- Proven experience in tool, jig, fixture, and work-holding manufacture
- Time-served engineer or completed mechanical apprenticeship
- Qualified to a minimum of ONC or equivalent NVQ
- Good knowledge of manufacturing engineering
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills and good organisational skills
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety practices
Desirable
- Experience manufacturing press tools
- Experience with CNC and conventional machining methods
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement tools (Lean, Six Sigma, 5 Why)
- Problem-solving skills and ability to train others
- Ability to deputise for the Toolroom Team Leader when required
