Due to continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, our client is looking for a skilled Mechanical & Electrical Estimator to join its dynamic Estimating team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-impact infrastructure projects while collaborating with experienced professionals in a supportive, forward-thinking environment.

As a Mechanical & Electrical Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive estimates across a range of construction projects, supporting both internal teams and external partners.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing detailed M&E estimates from tender documentation, drawings, and specifications
  • Collaborating with designers, project managers, clients, and suppliers
  • Providing cost, design, and construction methodology advice
  • Leading negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Supporting value engineering and efficient design solutions
  • Assisting the Commercial team with variations and final accounts
  • Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Mentoring junior team members to strengthen team capability

About you:

You’ll be a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong technical expertise in mechanical and electrical engineering.

Essential requirements:

  • Mechanical or electrical qualification with installation/project delivery experience
  • Experience in HV and LV electrical systems engineering and pricing
  • Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines independently
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Solid understanding of M&E systems and construction processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

Desirable:

  • Experience in water and wastewater projects
  • Background in sectors such as food manufacturing, process engineering, or oil & gas
