We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Installation Manager to oversee mechanical installation teams across projects in the North of the UK. This role will sit within a growing renewable and energy solutions business delivering solar PV, heating, and energy efficiency projects. You will take responsibility for managing engineers on site, ensuring quality delivery, strong engagement, and adherence to standards across all installations. You will be working closely with operations, project management and design teams, playing a key role in delivering projects safely, on time and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and lead Mechanical Engineers across multiple sites in the North
- Carry out technical inspections and ensure quality standards are maintained
- Identify and manage non-conformities and drive continuous improvement
- Engage with site teams, providing clear direction and leadership
- Ensure compliance across timekeeping, documentation, tools and vehicle standards
- Support development of Lead Engineers and wider team progression
- Collaborate with project managers, site managers and design teams
- Review designs and support planning of installation works
- Troubleshoot installation issues and implement corrective actions
- Provide clear reporting to senior stakeholders on progress and risks
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety and CDM regulations
Essential Requirements
- Background in mechanical installations within construction or renewable projects
- Experience managing teams on site within an EPC or contractor environment
- Strong understanding of quality, compliance and installation standards
- Proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Desirable Qualifications
- Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent
- Experience within solar PV or renewable energy projects
- SMSTS, NEBOSH or similar health and safety certification
- Experience developing and mentoring engineering teams
Working Pattern and Benefits
