Mobile Plant Mechanic

Salary: £46,055 per annum (plus overtime and benefits)Are you a skilled mechanic looking for a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same?

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic Mobile Plant Mechanic to join their team and help maintain their extensive fleet of plant and heavy equipment at one of the UK's busiest ports.

Working in a fast-paced 24/7 operation, you'll play a vital role in ensuring their vehicles and plant remain safe, reliable and ready to keep the port moving.

What You'll Be Doing As a Mobile Plant Mechanic, you'll be responsible for inspecting, servicing, diagnosing and repairing a wide range of plant and commercial vehicles, helping to minimise downtime and maximise operational efficiency.

Commercial vehicles Forklift trucks Loading shovels Other mobile plant and associated equipment What We're Looking For To succeed in this role, you'll have: A recognised Motor Vehicle Apprenticeship (Level 3 minimum)Strong mechanical knowledge and practical fault-finding skills Experience working on commercial vehicles, forklift trucks or heavy plant Ideally, a multi-skilled background including hydraulics, electrics and diesel engines The ability to work independently and use your own initiative A proactive, flexible approach with a commitment to high standards of safety and workmanship A full UK driving licence and your own transport Working Hours This is a shift-based role supporting a busy port operation that runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
