About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the delivery of our clients innovative solar PV designs that meet technical and regulatory standards. As part of the Commercial and Industrial (C&I) Generation Team, you will oversee the Design and Electrical Engineering team, providing comprehensive support for projects from inception through construction and into operation.

What You’ll Be Doing

  1. Collaborate with senior leadership to design and approve high-quality solar systems that align with business objectives.
  2. Foster a collaborative culture within the engineering team to maximise efficiency and synergy.
  3. Manage engineering design activities during the front-end engineering design (FEED) and detailed design stages, ensuring projects meet timelines and budgets.
  4. Own the Project Design Management Plan, balancing safety, quality, and value to optimise project outcomes.
  5. Coordinate resource allocation, manage third-party consultants and contractors, and address technical and design risks.
  6. Document design decisions for assurance reviews and develop technical specifications for tenders.
  7. Conduct due diligence, site visits, and commissioning support as needed, while interfacing with various business units and reporting to senior leadership.

What Will You Bring to the Role

  1. Experience leading engineering teams in power generation projects, ideally within Commercial and Industrial Solar.
  2. Knowledge of engineering industry standards, construction regulations, and a relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience.
  3. Proficiency in design software such as PVSyst, PVSol, and AutoCAD.
  4. Experience in solar PV system design, grid applications, and quality assurance.
  5. Strong problem-solving and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  6. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
