Are you an experienced recruitment Sales Manager with a strong personal billing record and proven experience leading sales consultants? MDE Group is seeking a commercially strong player-manager to lead, develop and hold accountable a team of sales consultants, while continuing to personally bill and grow a focused client portfolio. This role is suited to someone with experience in Renewable Energy, Oil & Gas, Energy, Engineering or Technical recruitment. The successful person will be expected to lead from the front, drive activity, improve consultant performance and ensure the team is consistently working towards GP, pipeline, client development and delivery targets.

Responsibilities:
- To drive the performance and growth of MDE's sales consultants by leading from the front, personally billing, managing team activity and ensuring consistent delivery against GP, client development, pipeline and quality standards. The Sales Manager will be responsible for creating a high-accountability sales culture while maintaining strong personal client relationships.
- Team Leadership: Lead, manage and develop a team of sales consultants, setting clear standards around activity, revenue, client development, candidate quality and compliance.
- Personal Billing: Maintain and grow a personal client portfolio, personally billing and delivering against an agreed GP target.
- Sales Activity and Accountability: Monitor daily and weekly activity, KPIs, GP performance, pipeline quality, forecasts and business plans to ensure consultants remain accountable.
- Performance Management: Identify underperformance early and support improvement through coaching, action plans, structured follow-up, 1-2-1s and documented reviews.
- Coaching and Development: Conduct desk reviews, call listening, deal reviews and vacancy qualification reviews to improve consultant performance and commercial judgement.
- Business Development: Win, retain and grow clients across Renewable Energy, Oil & Gas, Energy, Engineering and Technical recruitment markets.
- Client Relationship Management: Build senior relationships with hiring managers, procurement teams and key decision makers, supporting major client wins and difficult negotiations.
- CRM and Pipeline Management: Drive accurate CRM usage, sales process discipline, target client tracking, pipeline management and market intelligence across the team.
- Identify target clients, projects, hiring managers, PSL review dates, tenders and new business opportunities within priority markets.
- Lead weekly sales meetings to review live vacancies, CV submissions, candidate coverage, account priorities and resourcing requirements.
- Compliance and Quality Standards: Reporting: Maintain sales forecasts and provide input into monthly management reporting, budget forecasting and headcount planning.
Requirements:
- 5 years+ recruitment experience, ideally within Renewable Energy, Oil & Gas, Energy, Engineering or Technical recruitment.
- 2 years+ experience managing or leading a team of recruitment sales consultants, ideally across a team of 5+ billers.
- Strong personal billing track record with demonstrable success achieving or exceeding sales targets.
- Experience holding consultants accountable against KPIs, GP, pipeline, CRM activity and quality standards.
- Demonstrable success winning and growing new client accounts.
- Confident coach and performance manager, able to challenge underperformance directly and constructively.
- Able to create and deliver business plans, target account plans and team performance roadmaps.
- Confident using CRM, reporting tools, forecasts and sales data to drive business decisions and consultant performance.
- Experience across both contract and permanent recruitment would be desirable.
