We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Project Engineer to join our project delivery team on a prestigious £55 million MEP installation project in Central London. Working for a leading MEP subcontractor, the successful candidate will take ownership of the electrical engineering delivery from design coordination through procurement, installation, commissioning, and handover.

The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and commercial awareness to ensure the electrical package is delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day engineering delivery of the electrical package.
  • Coordinate design development and technical submissions with consultants, main contractor, and specialist subcontractors.
  • Review and manage electrical design information, ensuring buildability and compliance with project requirements.
  • Lead technical workshops and design coordination meetings.
  • Ensure works are delivered in accordance with programme milestones and contractual requirements.
  • Support the Project Manager in developing and maintaining installation programmes.
  • Review consultant and subcontractor drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Manage RFIs, technical queries, and design change processes.
  • Coordinate BIM and design integration activities with other disciplines.
  • Monitor design progress against procurement and construction requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with current regulations, British Standards, and project specifications.
  • Assist with procurement schedules and technical evaluations of suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Review technical aspects of subcontractor packages and supplier quotations.
  • Support change management processes, including identification and valuation of variations.
  • Monitor material procurement and equipment lead times.
  • Oversee site installation activities and ensure works are executed safely and efficiently.
  • Coordinate electrical subcontractors and specialist vendors.
  • Conduct site inspections and quality audits.
  • Monitor productivity and progress against programme.
  • Resolve technical and installation issues as they arise.
  • Develop and manage commissioning strategies and programmes.
  • Coordinate testing, commissioning, and witness activities.
  • Ensure all commissioning documentation is completed and approved.
  • Manage production and collation of O&M manuals and handover documentation.
  • Support client training and project close-out activities.
  • Promote and maintain a positive health and safety culture.
  • Ensure compliance with company HSE procedures and statutory requirements.
  • Review RAMS and permit systems.
  • Participate in site safety inspections and audits.
  • Ensure quality assurance processes are implemented throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
  • Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
  • Minimum 8–10 years' experience delivering large-scale MEP or electrical building services projects.
  • Proven experience on commercial, mixed-use, data centre, healthcare, or high-value residential developments.
  • Strong understanding of electrical building services systems including: HV/LV distribution, standby power generation, UPS systems, lighting and controls, fire alarm systems, security and ELV systems, containment and cabling infrastructure.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent knowledge of British Standards, IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671), and current industry best practice.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of construction contracts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Aconex, BIM 360, or similar project management platforms.
