Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Project Engineer to join our project delivery team on a prestigious £55 million MEP installation project in Central London. Working for a leading MEP subcontractor, the successful candidate will take ownership of the electrical engineering delivery from design coordination through procurement, installation, commissioning, and handover . The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and commercial awareness to ensure the electrical package is delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standard s. Key Responsibilit iesManage the day-to-day engineering delivery of the electrical packa ge.Coordinate design development and technical submissions with consultants, main contractor, and specialist subcontracto rs.Review and manage electrical design information, ensuring buildability and compliance with project requiremen ts.Lead technical workshops and design coordination meetin gs.Ensure works are delivered in accordance with programme milestones and contractual requiremen ts.Support the Project Manager in developing and maintaining installation programm es.Review consultant and subcontractor drawings, specifications, and technical documentati on.Manage RFIs, technical queries, and design change process es.Coordinate BIM and design integration activities with other disciplin es.Monitor design progress against procurement and construction requiremen ts.Ensure compliance with current regulations, British Standards, and project specificatio ns.Assist with procurement schedules and technical evaluations of suppliers and subcontracto rs.Review technical aspects of subcontractor packages and supplier quotatio ns.Support change management processes, including identification and valuation of variatio ns.Monitor material procurement and equipment lead tim es.Oversee site installation activities and ensure works are executed safely and efficient ly.Coordinate electrical subcontractors and specialist vendo rs.Conduct site inspections and quality audi ts.Monitor productivity and progress against program me.Resolve technical and installation issues as they ari se.Develop and manage commissioning strategies and programm es.Coordinate testing, commissioning, and witness activiti es.Ensure all commissioning documentation is completed and approv ed.Manage production and collation of O&M manuals and handover documentati on.Support client training and project close-out activiti es.Promote and maintain a positive health and safety cultu re.Ensure compliance with company HSE procedures and statutory requiremen ts.Review RAMS and permit syste ms.Participate in site safety inspections and audi ts.Ensure quality assurance processes are implemented throughout the project lifecyc le. Requirem entsDegree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineer ing.Minimum 8–10 years' experience delivering large-scale MEP or electrical building services proje cts.Proven experience on commercial, mixed-use, data centre, healthcare, or high-value residential developme nts.Strong understanding of electrical building services systems includ ing:HV/LV distribu tionStandby power genera tionUPS sys temsLighting and cont rolsFire alarm sys temsSecurity and ELV sys temsContainment and cabling infrastruc tureExperience managing subcontractors and coordinating multidisciplinary te ams.Excellent knowledge of British Standards, IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671), and current industry best pract ice.Strong commercial awareness and understanding of construction contra cts.Proficient in Microsoft Office, Aconex, BIM 360, or similar project management platfo rms.
