MDCV UK MDCV UK has a vision to bring the finest English and Provençal wines to the UK market. We have a long history of producing award-winning Provence Rosé and English Sparkling Wines, with an extensive infrastructure, both in France and the UK. We will be the largest producer of wine in each of these regions by 2024, with a combined production of over 10 million bottles annually. Our French estates span over 1000 acres and are already established in many global markets, with sales of over 4 million bottles. In the UK, we are establishing the largest single vineyard site, based in Kent, and plan to be in full production from 2024. As a business, we strive for innovation and use many cutting-edge techniques in our vineyards and winemaking. The ambition and scale of what we do allows us some of the most efficient operations in the world, while still producing high quality wine of award-winning standard. We have a passion for sustainability and manage all our vineyards organically, while also employing pioneering techniques to minimise our impact on the environment, such as composting organic waste, harvesting rainwater and heating our sites using natural sources, such as ground source heat pumps. While learning from our history and building for our future, we plan to revolutionise the English wine industry for the better. This role is responsible for managing and developing the winery/vineyard tours, shop and the café. This is currently across two locations, but will grow as the business develops and expands its portfolio. Key responsibilities Our Operatives are key to the success of the Vineyard and the company, they are responsible for working our vineyards and vines ensuring both productivity and standards are achieved. This role involves most vineyard tasks which will include, but is not limited to, weeding, hoeing, grinding roots, leaf stripping, grape picking, bud rubbing, tying down, strimming, trellising, pruning the vines. The role also requires an ability to articulate training to our field operatives to the required standards and build effective teams. One of the most important roles in the year for Operatives is to harvest our yield of grapes quickly and effectively. Requirements * Delivering Vine maintenance to the required standards. * The ability to undertake physical aspects of manual handling. * Happy to work as part of a large team and follow instruction. * Willing to work in the outdoors and all weather types. * Working a 5 over 7 shift pattern. * Flexibility on start and finish times upon request. * A flexible, can do attitude and ability to embrace change. Desirable but not essential * Experience and/or interest in vineyard work. * Have experience of working on a farm. * Ideally be relatively local to the Sedlescombe , Bodiam Area.
