Purpose
The Academic Peer Support Assistant is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating peer development programs designed to support academic performance and student engagement.
Responsibilities
- Plan peer development programs to enhance students’ academic performance.
- Implement and evaluate these programs to ensure effectiveness.
- Provide guidance, instruction, and support to students in developing knowledge and skills.
- Collaborate with peers and staff to achieve shared goals.
- Lead, motivate, and inspire others toward acquiring new knowledge.
- Offer insight and suggestions to help individuals make informed decisions.
- Eligibility & Qualifications
- Must be enrolled as a York University student.
- Previous work experience may be considered.
- Strong communication skills to provide insight and suggestions.
- Ability to collaborate and work with others to complete shared goals.
- Ability to provide instruction and support others in developing their knowledge or skills.
- Leadership and initiative to motivate and guide others.
- Empathy and ability to understand and relate to others.
