Our Sat Connect IC business unit, a division of our Satellite Systems business, is a leading provider of ASICs, software, multibeam electronically steered antennas, and complete systems for communication satellites, as well as ground and airborne terminals. Role Overview
As a Senior System Validation Engineer, you will work with control and data processing hardware and software, as well as physical layer and radio hardware and firmware, to construct a full communication system supporting DVB‑S2X and other radio and IP communication protocols. This role offers an exciting and challenging adventure into the world of satellite communication, which is undergoing a major disruptive revolution.
Responsibilities
- System validation activity including Phy, HW and SW validation
- Proven track record in designing and delivering high‑speed SerDes IP (multi‑gigabit per second links)
- Study system architecture and system requirements and contribute to a test plan to address these requirements in collaboration with system engineering and other teams
- Define and write automatic test plans and test procedures for new systems and features
- Build test setups for fully automated regression as well as for manual tests
- Actively participate in integration and feature/product enabling, bring‑up and debug activities, and regression automation testing of satellite systems
- Record, investigate and analyze defects
- Investigate root causes of test‑case failures and provide corrective action in conjunction with development teams
- Support test‑management tools and continuous integration methodologies
- Perform data analysis and post‑processing of data collected
- Compile regular test‑execution summary reports with metrics
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years of system validation experience
- Proven experience in lab work and validation of complex HW/SW/embedded designs
- Expertise in RF physical‑layer testing – operation of RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, VNAs, signal generators, power meters, high‑speed sampling scopes, etc.
- Experience in developing automation in validation environments – proficiency in a programming language (Python, C#, C++ etc.)
- Experience testing IP networking systems (routers, network processors) and knowledge of IP communication protocols and complex network performance
- Experience in planning, estimating and developing system tests
- Familiarity with defect‑tracking and knowledge‑management software (Atlassian JIRA and Confluence preferred)
- Self‑learning capability, adaptability to change and ability to study new technical fields
- Independent, self‑motivated, team player with multitasking abilities
- Effective teamwork, collaboration and mission‑leadership skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
