We are seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) professional to lead and oversee EHS programs at our Abingdon and Didcot facilities. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing, managing, and continuously improving policies and procedures that ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations. You will drive initiatives that enhance environmental and safety performance while fostering a strong culture of compliance and accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and adapt EHS policies and programs to align with current and upcoming regulations, ensuring ongoing compliance and performance improvements.
- Manage all EHS activities across the Abingdon and Didcot sites, including monitoring environmental performance, identifying risks, and implementing corrective measures.
- Conduct regular safety audits and on-site inspections to identify hazards, unsafe practices, or conditions, and recommend actionable improvements.
- Lead investigations into environmental and safety incidents, prepare comprehensive reports, and implement preventive measures.
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs for staff at all levels.
- Serve as the ISO management system representative for Environment and Health & Safety.
- Conduct and support risk assessments across site operations.
- Align site-level EHS standards with corporate requirements, assisting in gap analysis, standards updates, training, and full implementation.
- Evaluate and report on overall EHS performance to identify trends and recurring issues; propose improvements in systems, technology, or processes.
- Provide expert guidance and support to operational managers to help them fulfill their EHS responsibilities.
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with local communities, environmental groups, and other key stakeholders.
- Stay informed of regulatory developments to ensure the organization's policies remain current and effective.
- Promote a strong EHS culture through leadership, training, and engagement.
- Collaborate with regional EHS leaders to share best practices and drive consistency across sites.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of EHS management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience with ISO 45001/18001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- NEBOSH certification and membership in a recognized professional body.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience in regulated manufacturing environments, such as chemical, radiation, or cleanroom operations.
- Familiarity with COMAH (Control of Major Accident Hazards) regulations.
- Project management experience is a plus.

- Implement and maintain EHS management systems aligned with ISO 45001/18001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Ensure compliance with UK EHS regulations, including COMAH (Control of Major Accident Hazards).
- Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Lead incident investigations, prepare technical reports, and deploy preventive strategies.
- Monitor site-wide environmental performance metrics, identify deviations, and drive continuous improvement.
- Act as the ISO management system representative for Environment, Health, and Safety.
- Analyze and report on EHS performance trends; recommend and implement system, process, or technology enhancements.
- Coordinate site-level compliance with corporate EHS standards through training, gap analysis, and implementation support.

Technical Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in EHS management within a regulated manufacturing environment (chemical, cleanroom, radiation, etc.).
- Proven application of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001/18001 management systems.
- NEBOSH certification and membership in a recognized professional EHS body.
- Strong understanding of UK environmental and safety regulations, including COMAH.
- Proficient in EHS auditing, technical reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
- Project management capabilities are a plus.
