POSITION SUMMARY: Our company is seeking a dynamic leader to head our EMEAI Product Stewardship function. This high-profile role will drive our ambitious growth strategy while ensuring we meet all regional compliance requirements.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute the EMEAI product stewardship strategy, aligned with our global vision.
- Lead a team of product stewardship professionals, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
- Oversee compliance with REACH and other regional chemical and product regulations.
- Shape the Future of Sustainability: Drive impactful change by developing and executing the EMEAI product stewardship strategy, ensuring our products are safe and sustainable for the region.
- Lead a Winning Team: Build a collaborative and results-oriented environment, empowering your team of product stewardship professionals to excel.
- Global Impact: Partner with cross-functional teams across the company to achieve strategic objectives, leaving your mark on a global scale.
- Direct responsibility for talent development and performance management of a regional staff of currently 5 Product Stewardship professionals.
- Building a motivated regional team that works together to share ideas and resources is key to the success of this position.
- Participate in the development of the company\’s Global Product Stewardship Strategy and collaboration with Business Units, Research and Development, Supply Chain, Procurement and Manufacturing leadership to lead the development, implementation, and achievement of product stewardship goals within the European Union.
- Implement product stewardship processes to meet critical business and growth needs.
- This role also requires driving best practices that are efficient, consistent, and aligned with Global Product Stewardship goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
- Lead regional team to ensure execution of product registrations and reporting in the EMEAI region, including EU & UK REACH, KKDIK, CLP, compliance with EU regulations and ensuring alignment with other regions, customer interface, new product introduction and development, product portfolio and strategic risk assessments.
- Support business growth and regulatory compliance by developing REACH registration strategies, implement and manage REACH registrations with the Lead registrant role and through industry consortia, coordinate REACH-related work with ECHA, manage substance evaluations and dossier updates, and support Only Representative services for non-EU customers.
- Work with regional and global teams to ensure timely response to customer inquiries about REACH and other product stewardship-related issues.
- Advise and brief business leadership on new regulations and other developments in the region that may have a significant impact on current and growth business strategies.
- Support and/or actively participate in regional and/or global advocacy work including direct communications with Agencies, Officials, and Trade Groups to ensure the company\’s interest and position is represented.
- Actively participate in and support Product & Application Risk Reviews as applicable.
- Engage key internal stakeholders and conduct training and awareness of Product Stewardship and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Manage Regional Product Stewardship budget and service providers.
- Ensure operating procedures, training and documentation are in place and implemented for the Region.
- Establishes metrics for work and/or ties into global reporting to ensure progress and accomplishment of work are communicated regarding compliance and its impact on business growth.
- Willingness to travel approximately 10-20% of the time.
REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of Bachelor\’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Toxicology, Engineering, or equivalent.
- Long-term relevant experience in a chemical/petrochemical or related industrial environment with at least 3 years of product stewardship supervisory experience and demonstrated, in-depth experience implementing REACH and CLP regulations.
- Demonstrate a successful record of transformational leadership; engaging, inspiring, and communicating with others across cultural lines, motivating to complete challenging tasks in a changing environment.
- Proven experience consulting and troubleshooting to develop and drive sound resolution of product regulatory issues.
- Ability to effectively work and lead cross-functional, international teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proven industry experience in performing multi-faceted regulatory, compliance, and communication activities.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills in English.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Dangerous Goods Transportation experience and certification.
- Knowledge of SAP EHS.
- Six Sigma Black Belt or Greenbelt.
- Experience working directly with customers, understanding and showing a high level of commitment and response to their needs
