About the Role
We are seeking an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team. This is a varied role offering exposure to both contractor-side estimating and consultancy-based quantity surveying services, providing an excellent opportunity to develop professionally across multiple sectors. The successful candidate will work closely with Senior Surveyors, Project Managers, and clients, and will be required to attend site visits as part of project delivery.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender pricing for contractor-led projects
- Undertaking measurement and take-offs from drawings and specifications
- Preparing Bills of Quantities, schedules, and cost plans
- Supporting consultancy services including cost reporting, valuations, and financial control
- Assisting with interim valuations, final accounts, and variations
- Attending site visits to assess progress, verify measurements, and support project delivery
- Liaising with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Assisting with procurement processes, including tender enquiries and analysis
- Supporting senior Quantity Surveyors with commercial management of projects
- Ensuring cost control procedures are followed throughout the project lifecycle
Essential Criteria
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Proven measurement and take-off experience
- Experience or understanding of contractor estimating and consultancy QS services
- Good knowledge of construction methods and materials
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Willingness to attend site visits as required
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and relevant QS software
Desirable Criteria
- Progress towards RICS or CIOB chartership
- Previous experience in a consultancy or main contractor environment
- Full driving licence
