Job Description
Position: Sales Planner Expeditor
Location: Birmingham
Directly reports to: Senior Manager, Sales Operations & Business Process Improvement
Position Summary: The Sales Planner Expeditor plays a crucial role in supporting the sales team by coordinating and expediting sales orders, ensuring timely delivery, and optimizing workflow processes. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with multiple departments, including sales, logistics, and procurement. The Sales Planner Expeditor monitors inventory levels, tracks order fulfillment, and resolves any delays or discrepancies to maintain customer satisfaction.
In this role you will:
- Ensure timely entry of vendor purchase orders.
- Monitor order status, identify potential delays, and communicate order updates to the commercial organization.
- Coordinate with production teams to ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Track inventory levels and identify potential stock shortages.
- Collaborate with purchasing teams to ensure timely material procurement.
- Monitor product availability and communicate potential delays to the commercial organization.
- Provide the inside sales team with accurate delivery estimates and order status updates through ERP date management.
- Communicate customer requirements to production teams.
- Monitor production schedules and flag potential bottlenecks.
- Work with production managers to prioritize orders and optimize production flow.
- Generate reports on sales order status, delivery timelines, and inventory levels.
- Analyze data to identify trends and potential areas for improvement.
- Provide insights to sales and operations teams to optimize sales planning.
- Grow professional relationships with various internal and external production facilities.
- Collaborate with project management to prepare for project review meetings.
Qualifications
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent industry experience.
- 2 - 3 years of experience in supply chain management, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical skills and ability to interpret data.
- Knowledge of sales process and order fulfillment procedures.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to travel up to 15%.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or industrial distribution.
- Experience in the construction industry is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in CRM and ERP systems.
- Proven track record of successfully managing supplier relationships and ensuring timely delivery of materials.
