The Centre for the Study of Existential Risk (CSER) within the Institute for Technology and Humanity (ITH) seeks to appoint a Teaching Associate who will commence as soon as possible and prior to February 2026.

The role will support the new MPhil in Global Risk and Resilience, providing teaching and assessment support in close collaboration with course leaders, the Postgraduate Coordinator and existing Teaching Associates.

It is suitable for PhD holders with teaching experience, excellent communication skills and a desire to contribute to ITH’s research output, particularly in reducing global catastrophic risk.

Key Activities

  • Support delivery of modules
  • Supervise students and mark assessments
  • Co‑lead monitoring of student attainment, wellbeing and feedback
  • Play an active role in the life and work of CSER and ITH

Applicants Must Have

  • A PhD in a relevant field
  • Experience successfully developing and delivering teaching at university level, including formal and informal assessment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, engaging a diverse group of learners and encouraging commitment to learning
  • The ability to maintain and develop knowledge connected to the Centre’s field of study

The funds for this post are available for 12 months in the first instance.
