Would you like to be part of an Institute that works hard every day to get one step closer to winning the battle against cancer? If so, this role may be for you.

The Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute (CI) is a joint venture between Cancer Research UK and the University of Cambridge and is situated on the Addenbrooke\'s Biomedical Campus in Cambridge. The Institute\'s mission is to tackle the most difficult problems in cancer research and improve patient outcomes.

As a Senior Research Grants Administrator at the Institute, you will play a critical role in ensuring that the Institute is able to fund an environment conducive to high‑quality world‑class science. The position would suit an energetic person who has already gained experience in research grants management and understands the deadline‑driven nature of the work. As part of a team of seven Grants Administrators you will be responsible for the proactive management of a portfolio of grants throughout the whole lifecycle from pre to post award; working closely with grant holders and their teams.

You will be able to work independently but also be an excellent team player and be able to remain calm when working under pressure. You should be able to demonstrate excellent written English and the ability to interpret and fulfil precise requirements with meticulous attention to detail.

The role provides an excellent opportunity for you to develop your career in research grant management, whilst working in a stimulating environment supporting cancer research.

Applications are welcome for those who wish to work reduced hours spread over a 5‑day working week. The current hybrid working pattern includes two full days at the office.

  • A competitive salary with automatic annual increments within your salary band.
  • Hybrid working and flexible working opportunities.
  • A supportive and empowering line manager to coach you.
  • A cooperative and committed team‑based approach to work.
  • The opportunity to be challenged by, but proud of the work you carry out.
  • Opportunities for career development and training.
  • Work at an Institute that respects equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • On‑site facilities including subsidised canteen and access to the Biomedical Campus\'s sports centre.
