Section Secretary

The Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages and Linguistics is seeking an enthusiastic and versatile person with excellent administrative skills for the role of Section Secretary. The position will provide general administrative support principally across the Slavonic Studies, Italian, and Modern Greek Sections, and in the Faculty Office.

You will work in a team of six within the Undergraduate Administration team, supporting the Faculty and its five constituent sections in delivering undergraduate teaching and examination. The role includes providing administrative assistance to the Section Coordinators and Deputy Faculty Manager for other Faculty‑wide and Section‑specific activities, and covering reception duties in the Faculty Office as needed.

The successful candidate will be well‑organised, adaptable, and a committed team player. You should be able to manage competing priorities, move between tasks at short notice, and meet deadlines. Collaboration within your immediate team and across Faculty and School services is essential, sharing best practice and facilitating continuous improvement.
