MCS Group is working closely with one of Ireland's most well-respected construction contractors to recruit a Health & Safety professional to support the implementation and maintenance of robust health and safety standards across multiple construction projects. The role will promote best practice, ensure full compliance with statutory and industry requirements, and support project teams in maintaining a safe, efficient, and productive working environment. This position is based within the Tipperary region for a large Pharmaceutical Construction project.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all subcontractors satisfy health and safety prequalification requirements prior to commencing works.
- Review and approve construction methodologies, including Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Support project teams in developing, reviewing, and maintaining Construction Phase Plans, Health & Safety Files, and Project Quality Plans.
- Verify that all site personnel have completed appropriate inductions and task-specific training.
- Review statutory plant and equipment training records to ensure compliance.
- Ensure weekly Toolbox Talks are delivered by site management teams.
- Promote and support the consistent use of task-specific Safe Plans of Action (SPAs).
- Ensure Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and Quality Plans are developed, implemented, and adhered to.
- Facilitate pre-commencement meetings to align all parties on health and safety expectations.
- Participate in daily site coordination and whiteboard meetings, providing guidance where required.
- Provide ongoing advice and recommendations to ensure compliance with health and safety policies and procedures.
Criteria
- Strong knowledge of Health and Safety best practice within the Construction sector.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital health & safety management systems.
- Familiarity with ISO standards, particularly ISO 45001.
