MCS Group is delighted to be exclusively partnered with a fast-growing US consulting and engineering firm as they grow their engineering presence across the UK.

Our client delivers complex ServiceNow implementations for enterprise customers globally and is now hiring a hands-on Technical Lead to own ITOM delivery end to end. In this role you will get exposure to cutting-edge ServiceNow technologies, AI, automation, DevOps, observability, and cloud integrations - it's not just traditional ITSM work!

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading full ITOM implementations including Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management and AIOps
  • Hands-on development: business rules, client scripts, script includes, UI policies, ACLs
  • Building third party integrations via REST, SOAP and mid servers
  • Working directly with enterprise customers, owning delivery independently
  • Getting exposure to AWS, GCP, Azure, Jenkins and modern CI/CD tooling alongside the platform

What they're looking for:

  • Deep, genuinely hands-on ServiceNow development experience
  • Proven ITOM implementation ownership, ideally cloud-native Discovery and Service Mapping
  • Strong JavaScript scripting skills, this is a keyboard role, not an oversight role
  • Comfortable running multiple customer engagements simultaneously
  • Based in the UK with the right to work

The package:

  • Base salary up to £130k dependant on experience
  • Fully remote
  • Unlimited paid time off
  • Private healthcare, family leave, fitness subsidies

This is a rare chance to join a US firm at the ground floor of its UK expansion with genuine input on how the practice grows. This is a great opportunity to work across a variety of client environments and solve diverse technical challenges.

How to prepare for a job interview at MCS Group

Brush Up on Your Technical Skills

For an IT consulting role, be ready to demonstrate your technical prowess. You might face questions on systems integration, cloud technologies, or even troubleshooting specific software. If you have experience with tools like AWS, Azure, or even specific programming languages, make sure you can talk about them fluently.

Showcase Your Problem-Solving Approach

IT consulting is all about solving problems for clients. Think about how you can illustrate your approach to a past challenge using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). It's a great way to show how you tackle complex issues and come up with effective solutions.

Know the Business Impact of IT Solutions

When discussing your experiences, focus not just on the tech solutions you implemented, but also on their business impact. Employers want to see that you can connect IT with organisational goals. Prep examples that highlight how your tech contributions improved efficiency or reduced costs for past clients or projects.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

Since IT consulting often involves teamwork and client interactions, expect behavioural questions that assess your interpersonal skills. Be prepared with examples that demonstrate your adaptability, communication skills, and how you handle client feedback. Before the interview, think of situations where you worked closely with clients to create effective IT strategies or changes.
