MCS Group are delighted to be partnering with a leading FMCG supplier to recruit a Sales Manager to join the growing business in Newry. This is an opportunity to play a key leadership role within a trusted and well-established wholesale food distributor. You will lead, coach, and inspire a high-performing sales team while driving profitable growth, strengthening customer relationships, and delivering on ambitious commercial targets. Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of Business Development Managers to deliver sales, margin, and profitability targets.
- Drive new customer acquisition while developing existing food-service key accounts through range extension and supply optimisation.
- Coach, motivate, and develop the sales team to maximise performance across key customer segments.
- Manage territory costs within allocated budgets through effective planning and resource management.
- Ensure excellent customer service through clear communication, strong administration, and professional field engagement.
- Manage projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within scope and budget.
- Deliver and execute the annual food-service commercial plan.
- Lead and collaborate with internal departments and key stakeholders to ensure alignment and delivery.
- Resolve challenges through effective negotiation, motivation, and leadership.
Essential Criteria
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a food-service sales or commercial role with a strong record of success.
- Proven experience in leading, managing, and coaching high-performing sales teams.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to deliver profitable growth.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to think long-term and develop end-to-end solutions.
- Proactive, driven, and results-focused with a strong work ethic and sense of urgency.
- Experience developing and delivering business initiatives and commercial plans.
